These terms apply when you use our website or sell your vehicle to Hawke’s Bay Car Removal (“we”, “us”). Please read them before you sell your vehicle.

Our service

We buy scrap, damaged and written-off vehicles in Hastings, Napier and the Hawke’s Bay region. Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Quotes

Quotes are based on the information you provide. The final price will be confirmed after inspecting the vehicle and agreeing on the price with you.

What you need to sell a vehicle

• You must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have permission from the legal owner to sell it.
• You must show valid photo ID, such as a New Zealand driver licence or passport.
• The vehicle must not be stolen.

Checking your documents and ownership

We may check your ID, vehicle registration details and your right to sell the vehicle before completing the purchase. After we buy the vehicle, we update the change of ownership with NZTA.

Vehicles with finance

Please let us know if there is any outstanding finance or money owing on the vehicle. We may refuse to purchase the vehicle if this has not been resolved.

Free towing and removal

We offer free towing and vehicle removal when we purchase your scrap, damaged or unwanted vehicle. There are no towing or collection fees for vehicles we buy.

Payment

We pay you when we collect the vehicle, after we check your ID and the vehicle.

Right to refuse

We can refuse to buy a vehicle if the ID is not valid, if we cannot confirm ownership, or if the vehicle details are not correct.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The latest version is always on this page.
